Warburg 2019 Ver versión en Español

The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (MNBA) and the Biblioteca Nacional “Mariano Moreno” (BNMM) of Argentina are pleased to announce the upcoming international events of “WARBURG 2019” in Buenos Aires.

Art Exhibition at the MNBA

This exhibition, inspired by the associative possibilities of the Mnemosyne Atlas, will present in a Warburgian spirit some fifty works of art from the collections of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes. Curated by Dr José Emilio Burucúa in collaboration with the artistic staff of the Museo, the exhibition will engage with the classic topics of the Warburg universe and enter into dialogue with concepts, matrices, languages and themes developed in Latin American art.

Bibliographic exhibition at the BNMM

Curated by the Research Department of the Biblioteca Nacional, this exhibition will highlight emblematic books and documents of the Warburgian tradition, from the classic volumes of the Journal of the Warburg and Courtauld Institutes to recent Latin American publications on Aby Warburg, his work, and intellectual legacy. Symposium participants and other visitors will be introduced through the exhibition to a range of authors influenced by Warburg’s thought and methods, as well as to valuable collections of Warburgian material in Argentinian public libraries.

La Biblioteca Nacional permanece cerrada del 28 de marzo al 2 de abril (inclusive), debido a los feriados nacionales.
